Hannah’s Prayer

My heart rejoices in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.” 1 Samuel 2:1-2.

I can see the joy in Hannah’s heart as she prayed this prayer. Her and her husband, Elkanah worshipped before the Lord for the Lord remembered her and granted her favor. She suffered the humiliation of her husband’s rival who provoked and belittled her because she could not bear her husband a child. Hannah prayed the Lord and wept in anguish, and then made a vow to the Lord, that this male child she ask of the Lord, will be given to Him all the days of his life. Shortly after, the Lord blessed her womb, and she bore a son, and called his name Samuel. Hannah did just as she vowed, and took him to the house of the Lord.

Beloved, I pray that you will soon pray the prayer of Hannah once the Lord grant you your petition. Reposition yourself to the Lord as Hannah positioned herself humbly to receive favor. She remained faithful and true and fulfilled her vow as she promised. What a mighty God we serve!
